HOW TO BUILD A SIMPLE WORDPRESS WEBSITE

This course will guide you from total beginner to building and administrating a simple website.

The course is classroom-based, and of 7-hours duration (plus lunch break). A maximum of 6 attendees.

You will need to bring a suitable laptop computer, and the URL of your website if you already have one or a method of payment if you wish to create a new site during the course (it typically costs around £30 to set-up a new website).

The course costs £250 (+VAT) per person.

A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO SEO

This short course takes the lid off the ‘dark art’ of Search Engine Optimisation and shines a torch onto a few of the oily bits. It is not intended to be an exhaustive expose, but a guide to the simple things you can do on your own site to improve its performance on the most common search engines.

You will need to bring a suitable laptop computer, and have Admin access to your website. Some previous experience of site admin for your website is highly advised.

The course is classroom-based, and of 6-hours duration (plus lunch break). A maximum of 8 attendees.

The course costs £215 (+VAT) per person.

PR AND MEDIA RELATIONS TRAINING

Understanding how ‘the press’ works has never been more important. Newspaper sales might be generally falling, but the influence of the press and its journalist corps has never been stronger. We offer PR training that covers a whole range of skills and ideas that will make your business media-savvy, and make your spokespeople quotable experts in their field.

An introduction to PR

This is a half-day course that describes;

  • What is ‘Public Relations’?
  • What is ‘The Press’?
  • Your Business is PR
  • Messaging
  • Organising PR Operations
  • Preparing for an interview

There are no limits on numbers for this course other than those imposed by the venue.

Priced from £250 per delegate (minimun 4 delegates – may vary depending on venue).

Press interview training

This is a follow-up course for spokespeople, and we recommend running ‘An Introduction To PR’ in the morning and follow-up with this course in the afternoon.

It is an intensive course and will be led by an experienced professional journalist. They will provide hints, tips, techniques and ‘rules’ to produce a good interview.

During the course, each candidate will prepare for and undertake;

  • A telephone interview
  • A Face-to-Face interview (recorded on video)
  • Respond to a series of email questions
  • Review comments by the interviewers about their performance and discuss videos with the group.

The objective is to learn and practice how to prepare for and deliver the best possible response to an interview opportunity.

The course is for a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 people and is priced at £1050 per person (plus travel and venue expenses).

Delegates are advised to bring a laptop computer or similar device, but this is not essential.

An Introduction to Online PR for B2B organisations

This is a half-day course that describes;
